In addition to our stunning annuals, Tahoe Tree Company offers a diverse selection of native perennials that provide long-lasting beauty and ecological benefits. Perennials are plants that live for more than two years, returning each spring to bring life and color to your garden. Our selection includes hardy California native species that are well-adapted to the Tahoe region’s unique conditions.
Perennials are an excellent investment for any garden, as they require less maintenance and provide continuous beauty year after year. These plants are particularly valuable for their role in supporting local biodiversity, offering habitat and food for pollinators, birds, and other wildlife. By choosing perennials native to California, you are contributing to the preservation of the local ecosystem and promoting environmental sustainability.
When to Plant Perennials
The ideal time to plant perennials in Tahoe and Truckee is in early July through the fall. Tahoe’s thaw period is different then in the foothills and typically perennials are best for planting starting in July giving the plants a full growing season to become established. Planting in the fall allows the roots to establish before the winter, ensuring strong growth in the spring. Our selection of native perennials includes a variety of species that will bring enduring beauty and ecological benefits to your garden.
