Veggie Gardening in the Sierra
Join us for a “How To” demonstration on Vegetable Gardening in the Sierra! This FREE event is being put on by Sierra Valley Farms’ Gary Romano, who will be sharing practical tips for growing healthy, productive veggies at high elevation.
Gardening in the Sierra can be challenging with shorter seasons and cooler temperatures but with the right soil, plant choices and timing, you can enjoy a thriving vegetable garden all summer long. Whether you’re new to the area, struggling with your current garden or simply want to learn more about growing food in mountain conditions – this session is for you. Pest Management with Local Business, Cut-Rite Tree & Spray
Join us for an engaging and informative session all about the creatures that visit your garden!
Led by Tyler Boutelle, an International Society of Arborists’ Certified Arborist. He hails from upstate New York and graduated from St Lawrence University with a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Studies and Biology combined. Tyler and his wife Crystal own and operate two businesses in the Tahoe area that help their customers maintain the health of their trees and gardens – Cut-Rite Tree and Spray Service and Alpine Arborists Tree Care.
This class will explore which critters help your garden thrive, and which ones can cause trouble. Learn how to identify common garden visitors, understand their impact and discover practical, humane ways to manage unwanted pests while supporting beneficial wildlife.
